American Revolution - George Washington Gravesite at Mount Vernon. The bi-centennial year: an exact re-enactment of the funeral was presented at Mt Vernon to make people again aware of the Washington legacy. A volunteer in full costume played each original participant. Artifacts were replicated, including a finely crafted copy of the casket in which Washington's remains now rest in riverside woods on the manor.
